Certificate not on phone or sim

When you try to install any signed application in your Nokia phone, you received this message that “Certificate not on phone or sim”, And you are not able to install useful applications in your phone like Opera Mini, Skype or other signed applications.

This message may appear for one or two reasons which are following:

  • You have flashed your phone with other firmware, which don’t contain the certificate files.
  • Certificate files were removed from security settings on your phone.

To confirm whether Certificate file are missing or not from your Nokia phone, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Install OxyCube or any Files explorer software for you Nokia phone.
  2. Connect your phone with the PC.
  3. Open OxyCube or File Explorer, you have installed, Goto C:\Hiddenfolder > certificates. If you don’t find “Hiddenfolder” in your C drive of your phone then try to navigate other drive to locate a folder called “Hiddenfolder”
  4. When you click on “Hiddenfolder” folder you will see two more folders inside this folder called ‘auth’ and ‘user’
  5. Open ‘auth’ fodler (which is containing authority certificates) if you cannot find the certificates files like Thawte, VeriSign, GlobalSign in this folder its mean you have loss Certificate files.
